RoGSiLT (Robust and Generalizable Sign Language Translation) advances translation technologies for German and French Sign Languages. Eusmat

EUSMAT at Saarland University links international materials education with applied innovation, including programmes with Université de Lorraine. Its collaboration with SurFunction transfers DLIP laser research into industrial applications, educating international PhD talents and enabling strategic technologies from mobility and energy to medical and aerospace sectors.

Binational French-German Center on AI

Since 2020, Inria and DFKI have built a strong partnership in trustworthy AI. They now aim to establish a binational French‑German AI center, formalized by an MoU at VivaTech, showcasing joint projects in edge AI, BCIs, and sign‑language translation.

Arts et Métiers and KIT created the French‑German Institute for Industry of the Future, building on 30 years of a double‑degree program. Launched in 2022, the majelanX–Aumovio partnership aims to reinvent in‑car audio by transforming radio into an intelligent media platform. Combining FM simplicity, streaming richness and real‑time personalization, it creates an immersive, editorialized infotainment experience tailored to future automotive software. The collaboration was recognized by France 2030 with the Audiomobility 2030 project.

LAsSy – AI-Powered Disassembly for a Circular Industry – develops AI-driven systems to automate and optimize disassembly processes for circular manufacturing. Combining AI, robotics, and computer vision, it enables faster, smarter reuse and inspection of products, helping industry reduce waste, lower CO₂ emissions, and build more resilient supply chains.

DTACK

DTACK (Digital Twin–Based Cybersecurity Testing for Intelligent Transportation) creates a digital twin framework to simulate cyberattacks on intelligent transportation systems. AI4HP partners developed a new generation of smart heat pump controls: Newly designed control algorithms enable heat pumps to adapt to their environmental conditions using artificial neural networks, to continue learning under changing conditions, thus improving both energy efficiency and user comfort.

The DAIOR project aims to create the operating room of the future with AI and robotic telesurgery. With federated learning, patient data remains local while AI models are trained across borders to support real-time operations. Living Lab SANCTUM + COMTESSA

COMTESSA at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich cooperates with DKKV and AFPCNT to strengthen Franco‑German resilience and disaster‑risk management. Combining systems analysis and multi‑risk prevention, the partnership develops decision‑support solutions and operates the SANCTUM + COMTESSA Living Lab at Frankfurt Airport as a cross‑border testbed for crisis management and smart‑city resilience.

Deutsch-Französisches Zukunftswerk für digitale Agenda

The new Franco-German Future Initiative for the Digital Agenda was agreed upon as a flagship project in the Franco-German Economic Agenda of Toulon. It is currently being established within and by the BMDS and is scheduled to be launched at VivaTech. The DFZW is being established as a platform for key players in digital policy, the digital economy, and civil society to serve as a catalyst and support for priority political initiatives of the joint digital agenda.
